Transferring Customized Commands ("Behaviors")

When you upgrade your Escape Pod (or if you ever have to re-flash your SD card for any reason) you may wish to back up the "Behaviors" configuration, which contains all of your customizations to each voice command (new words, phrases, etc.) so that any customizations to voice commands are saved. You may then upload them into your updated Escape Pod after you flash the SD card. Let's look at how to do this:

Backing Up Behaviors

  1. Open a web browser and visit "http://escapepod.local"
  2. Click "Menu" in the top right of the page.
  3. Click "Behaviors."
  4. Click "Back Up Existing Behaviors," just below the "Behaviors" title.
    1. A file with a ".json" file extension will download through your browser. Save it in a memorable place!

Importing Behaviors

  1. Open a web browser and visit "http://escapepod.local"
  2. Click "Menu" in the top right of the page.
  3. Click "Behaviors."
  4. In the "Developer Options" menu, click "Add Multiple Behaviors."
  5. Click "OK" in the warning dialog box.
  6. Under "Upload a JSON file":
    1. Click "Choose File"
    2. Navigate to the "existing-behaviors.json" file that you saved before (or the file that was shared with you by a community member) and select it.
    3. Click "Open."

You're done! The new customized commands will be usable immediately.
