Collecting Logs from Vector

On some occasions, it may be necessary for our support team to ask for logs from the Vector robot to diagnose issues or assist with specialized concerns. These logs are very helpful to us and can greatly speed the troubleshooting process.

Let's go over how to collect logs from Vector.

Requirements:

  • Bluetooth-enabled PC
  • Vector Robot
  • Vector Robot Charging Dock
  • Procedure must be performed using the Google Chrome Web Browser.

Collecting Logs from Vector

  1. Place Vector on his charger.
  2. Double tap his Back button so that a key appears on his screen.
  3. Open a web browser on your PC. Navigate to the following page: https://vector-setup.ddl.io/
  4. Click on the "Pair With Vector" button.
  5. In the dialog box that appears, look for the Vector robot. It should appear as "Vector-[Unique 4-character identifier]". Click on the correct entry.
  6. With the correct entry selected in the menu, click "Pair."
  7. A 6-digit PIN number will replace the pound signs on the robot's screen. Insert the PIN on the screen into the text field that appears on the web page and click the button to connect.
  8. At the top right of the page, you will see "Download Logs." Click "Download Logs."
  9. It will take 2 minutes or so for the logs to download onto your computer or device. This will appear as a .bz2 file.
  10. Once the download completes, please email these logs as a reply to your support ticket or as a new ticket to our Customer Experience team at support@digitaldreamlabs.com.

Please Note: If you do not see a "Download Logs" button or you are prompted to log in, please use your Anki account credentials (these are the credentials you use to log in to the Vector Robot app).
