Updates
- iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
- We're actively investigating an issue with Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus phones that prevents Track Scanning from starting or causes connections to Supercars or Supertrucks to unexpectedly disconnect. We’re very sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.
- 2017-10-20 - We now strongly believe that Apple has resolved these issues in iOS 11.1. Once iOS 11.1 is live and we're sure that this is accurate, we'll update this article.
- 2017-10-31 - iOS 11.1 is now live. Please let us know if you cannot use your iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus with OVERDRIVE.
What is the general rule for device compatibility?
The vast majority devices that can download our App from their respective app store are likely to support all aspects of OVERDRIVE and OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition.
If you can use your device to search for, find, and download the App in the Apple App Store, the Google Play store, or the Amazon Appstore that device is very likely to be compatible with OVERDRIVE and OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition.
Please be aware that because of the significant number of different models, variants, and manufacturing standards of available devices, we can only assure the compatibility of devices that we actively test internally. A list of compatible devices can be found here.
What if my device cannot find and download the App?
You’ve used your device to search for, but cannot find and download the App from the Apple App Store, the Google Play store, or the Amazon Appstore locations.
This means that your device is known to not support OVERDRIVE and OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition. Either it does not meet a specific requirement, or we’ve specifically disabled it because there were problems that we could not fix or workaround.
What devices do we know do not work?
All of the following devices are known to have failed compatibility testing with the OVERDRIVE and OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition apps. They are fundamentally incompatible with our products. We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to use these products with ours.

Software
- iOS 9
- Android 4.4 (Kit Kat)
- Fire OS 4 (Android 4.4.2)
Is there anything else to try if a device cannot find the App in any app store?
If you are using an Android device or an Amazon Kindle Fire OS device and they are not listed anywhere on this page and your unable to download the OVERDRIVE app from the App Store, you can try using the Android app (apk) for unsupported devices. We currently are planning on making a similar option available for OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition.
This .apk file will install on both Android and Fire OS devices.
Please note that we try to update and revise this article as often as possible, given the significant number of shipping and new devices, Android operating system versions with manufacturer customizations, the specifics in this article may become out of date.
